Quiche (Basic Recipe)

A flexible, make-it-your-own quiche — an egg-and-dairy custard poured over whatever cooked meats or vegetables and grated cheese you have, baked in a pie shell.

Method

From the family

  • The custard is any combination of milk, half and half, cream, and/or cottage cheese totaling 1 cup — use what you have.
  • Filling and cheese are open-ended: about 1½ cups of cooked meat or diced vegetables, plus 1–1½ cups of any grated cheese.
