Pot Roast with Gravy

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).

2. Season the roast all over with garlic salt and pepper.

3. In a large skillet or pot, thoroughly brown the seasoned roast in the oil, then turn off the heat.

4. Mix together the cold water, Kitchen Bouquet, and flour until thoroughly combined — easiest done by shaking them in a jar or covered container.

5. Pour the mixture into the skillet with the meat, turn the heat up to medium-high, and stir until it begins to boil.

6. Cover the skillet and put it into the oven for about 2 to 2½ hours, or until the roast is fork tender.

7. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
