Hungarian Goulash

Method

1. Brown the beef pieces in a large pot.

2. Add the sliced onions and garlic and continue browning.

3. Mix together the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, salt, dry mustard, and a dash of red pepper if using; stir into the beef.

4. Add 3 cups water and simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours, until the beef is tender.

5. Prior to serving, stir in 1/2 cup cream or half-and-half.
