Method
From the family
- Per a handwritten note on the card, the family bakes this in a pie crust with a streusel topping. The card left the bake time blank ('Bake ???'); 375°F for 45–50 minutes is our standard fill-in, not from the card.
Read the story
Printed from myhomecooking.net (“Apple Pie Filling”). Unlike the canned, by-the-quart version in the family book, this one is mixed fresh and used straight away: you soak the sliced apples, stir up a quick sugar-flour-cinnamon coating sharpened with a little vinegar and lemon, and toss the two together. A handwritten note suggests finishing it in a pie crust with a streusel topping.
