Almond Joy Cake

Method

1. Bake the cake according to the package directions in a 13x9-inch Pyrex baking dish (or larger if you have one).

2. Melt the marshmallows with 2/3 cup milk, 1 cup sugar, and the vanilla. Remove from heat, add the coconut, mix well, and set aside.

3. Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup milk, and the butter and bring to a boil for two minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add the chocolate chips, and stir until all the chips are melted.

4. While the cake is still hot, pour the coconut mixture over the top and spread evenly. Pour the chocolate mixture over the coconut, then top with shaved or slivered almonds.

5. Cool the cake before serving.
